Mikhail Zinoviev

Mikhail was Russian, the oldest and most spirited of the group. Despite his age, he was the Vice President of the Russian community in Armenia, and was Veteran Teachers Club’s most active member.
During the years of 2013 to 2015 his dancing made Mikhail a well-known figure in Armenia. He had many appearances on different media, became the center of attention of the journalists, and participated in different TV shows. Mikhail gained popularity and nearly everyone knew him in Yerevan!
However, this man, full of energy, also had his own skeleton in the closet. For 15 years he had been filling his inner emptiness by collecting objects, some useful, some useless. Mikhail had been hoarding for so long that he was hardly able to enter his apartment anymore. From floor to ceiling objects loomed over and suffocated his existence.

After joining the dance troupe, life for him was once again full of music, dancing, singing and friends for the first time in a long time. Mikhail slowly realized that his affection for his objects was unhealthy.  With much effort and difficulty, he begun to liberate his home, and himself, from the garbage once so important to him. He bravely conquered and liberated his apartment; for some psychologists it was a miracle that a person of his age could have that courage and readiness to do this. He did it and he did many other amazing things too. He died from a car accident in September 2015 and is no longer with us, but will stay in our hearts with the shining kindness in his eyes.
